Ben Valencia-Klug has a diverse work experience, starting in 2011 as an Associate to the Hon Justice Margaret White AO at the Court of Appeal, Supreme Court of Queensland, and the Australian Defence Force Discipline Appeal Tribunal. In 2012, they worked as a Lawyer at Clayton Utz. Then, in 2014, they became a Legal Counsel at Scentre Group, the owner and operator of Westfield in Australia and New Zealand. Ben also worked at Macquarie Group in 2016 as a Board Observer with a focus on the Macquarie Group Foundation. From 2018 onwards, Ben has been with Scape Australia, where they held various roles, including General Counsel, Director of People, and currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel.
Ben Valencia-Klug attended The University of Queensland from 2005 to 2010, where they earned their Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) (Hons) degree and Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in International Relations, Peace & Conflict. In 2009, they participated in a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) Exchange Program at Monash University in Prato, Italy. In 2011, they completed a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at The Australian National University.
