Chutima (Gift) Tontarawongsa has worked in a variety of roles in different companies, beginning with their role as a Research Assistant at the Thailand Development Research Institute in 2008. Chutima (Gift) then became a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at Duke University in 2009, where they researched topics such as development economics, social networks, and applied microeconomics. In 2012, they took on a Research Assistant role at the Center for Microfinance. From 2014 to 2017, Chutima worked as a Senior Economist at the Economic Intelligence Center (EIC) of Siam Commercial Bank, where they analyzed the impact of Thailand's and global economic events on banking business. In 2019, Chutima held a Short Term Consultant role at The World Bank, and then became a Senior Data Scientist at Wealthfront, where they built statistical models to predict new product adoption and identified customer segmentation. In 2020, they began working as a Data Scientist at Lyft, and in 2022 they will take on the roles of Head of Product at SCB Abacus and Product Strategy and User Research Assistant Managing Director at SCBS.

Chutima (Gift) Tontarawongsa received their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Economics from Duke University in 2014, following a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Economics from Duke University in 2010. Chutima (Gift) also completed an undergraduate exchange program in Economics at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2008, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Mathematics, Economics and Business from Lafayette College in 2009. In 2018, they obtained a Data Engineering on Google Cloud Platform Specialization from Coursera, and in 2017, they obtained a Talent Accelerated Program from IMD Business School.
