Jay Lim has over 20 years of professional work experience. Jay began their career in 1999 as a Web Development Intern at DuPont, where they achieved significant maintenance savings by integrating HR's Intranet portal with DuPont's custom CMS. Jay also redesigned and launched DuPont's careers website, integrating it seamlessly with RecruitSoft. From 2002 to 2005, they served as Company Sergeant Major in the Tech Department of the Singapore Civil Defence Force, where they maintained the organization's intranet, data backup systems, and developed applications for SCDF's nationwide security operations and public outreach programs. Jay also developed the first company site for COSEM. In 2007, Jay joined Trion Worlds, Inc. as a Web and Game UI Engineer, building the game website and portal using HTML, CSS, and Javascript, later switching to Flex and AS3. Jay also worked in Java and Spring in the backend. In 2009, they joined Zynga as a Senior Software Engineer, developing mobile games with iOS and previously Facebook games with Flash/AS3. Jay later transitioned to the role of Principal Software Engineer, working with Unity/C#, Java, Obj-C, and React Native/Typescript. In 2022, they joined Scenery as a Principal Software Engineer. Additionally, Jay has worked as a Course Assistant and 3D Concept Artist at Carnegie Mellon University and as an Art Contractor at Simutronics, illustrating characters for the Gemstone III bestiary and creating environmental 3D models for the MMORPG Hero's Journey.

Jay Lim attended Carnegie Mellon University from 2001 to 2005, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems and Human-Computer Interaction.
