Christian Menger has over 30 years of work experience in a variety of roles within the oilfield equipment industry. Christian is currently the Vice President of Technology at Schoeller-Bleckmann Oilfield Equipment AG since 2018. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Rig Technology at Weatherford from 2017 to 2018. From 2015 to 2017, they worked as the Global RSS Product Manager at Halliburton. Additionally, they worked independently as an Inventor in 2015. Before that, they held various positions at Schlumberger, including Center Engineering & Sustaining Manager, Technology Center Manager, and Program Manager - Surface Well Testing. Christian began their career at Schlumberger in 2000 as a Research Engineer and then moved up to Project Leader and Mechanical Engineer. Christian also worked as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of the West of England from 1997 to 2000. Prior to that, they were a Mechanical & Maintenance Engineer at Preussag Anthrazit GmbH from 1987 to 1990.
Christian Menger attended Caltech in 2012 but did not obtain a degree or specify a field of study. In 2001, they completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Material Science & Engineering with a focus on Reciprocating Seal Design and Abrasive Wear of Elastomer from the University of the West of England. Prior to that, in 1997, they obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng) from Hochschule Osnabrück. In 1996, Menger received their Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the West of England.
