Mark Mitchell

Mark Mitchell has a wide range of experience in the finance and research field. Mark is currently serving as the Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis at Scholar Rock since February 2021. Before joining Scholar Rock, Mark was a Member at Life Science Angels from November 2018 to February 2023. Mark also gained valuable experience at Genentech, where they held various roles including Commercial & Medical Affairs Finance Director from April 2018 to February 2021, Associate Director of Product Development (R&D) Finance from August 2016 to April 2018, and Senior Finance Manager at Genentech Research & Early Development (gRED) from March 2014 to July 2016. Prior to Genentech, Mark worked at Roche as a Business Unit Controller (R&D) from April 2012 to March 2014 and as a Financial Analyst from June 2011 to April 2012. Mark also served as the Manager of Research and Partnerships at AllerGen-NCE Inc from February 2009 to June 2011. Mark began their career as a Life Sciences Equity Research Associate at Canaccord Genuity Inc. from March 2007 to October 2008 and as a Clinical Data Management Associate at AAIPharma from September 2003 to August 2005.

Mark Mitchell completed their Bachelor of Science Honors degree in Biology from Queen's University from 1997 to 2001. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Molecular Virology at McMaster University from 2001 to 2003. Later, in 2005, Mark decided to further their education in the field of Business and obtained a Master of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University, specializing in Finance and Marketing, completing it by 2006.
