Jasmin Ramirez

Programs Director at School Board Partners

Jasmin began her professional career in college as a full-time employee and student. She was elected Student Body President of Cerritos College, a student body of more than 25,000 students, and awarded the Woman of the Year award in 2012 by her peers. In 2013, she returned to Colorado and began her teaching career in early education. She has experience working in both the public and charter school systems.

Jasmin was one of the first women of color elected in November 2019 to the Roaring Fork School District’s Board of Education, where almost 60% of students are Latino. She graduated from Glenwood Springs High School, the largest high school in her district, and is a first-generation college graduate. She is the proud daughter and wife of immigrants.

A couple of weeks into the COVID pandemic, Jasmin and local community leaders co-founded a Latino-led organization names Voces Unidas de Las Montanas. The first of its kind in a span of three counties and more than ten cities along the Roaring Fork Valley —it aimed to build advocacy, leadership, and civic engagement within the Latino community. Jasmin led the leadership programs and created the Latino Network. A year-long cohort of local Latino leaders committed to intentional networking, support, and coaching.

In 2021 Jasmin was appointed by the Colorado Governor to serve on the Early Childhood Leadership Commission, Colorado’s federally-authorized state advisory council for early childhood. She now serves as the Vice President of the Roaring Fork Schools Board of Education, as a Commissioner on the Parks and Recreation Committee for Glenwood Springs, as a member of the Defiende Nuestra Tierra Advisory Board, and as the Vice-Chair for the Colorado Statewide Parent Coalition.

She’s a strong advocate for education, equity, equality, access, and building communities centered around their most important stakeholder, students.
