Michael Motzny began their work experience in 2002 as a Science Instructor in the Pontiac School District. Michael also served as the Head Wrestling Coach during this time. From 2003 to 2004, they worked as the Aquatics Director and Life Guard at Pontiac Parks and Recreation. In 2011, Michael became a Science and STEM Instructor at Pontiac School District, eventually becoming the Science Department Head and FRC Robotics Coach/Mentor. From 2015 to 2018, they were the Head Wrestling Coach at Brother Rice High School.
Michael Motzny obtained their high school diploma from Waterford Mott High School in 1996. Michael then attended Oakland University from 1996 to 2000, where they earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree with a major in Biology/Biological Sciences and a minor in Chemistry. From 2000 to 2002, they pursued secondary education through the Post Grade STEP Program at Oakland University. Next, they attended Central Michigan University from 2004 to 2006, completing a Master's degree in Educational/Instructional Technology. In February 2012, Michael obtained a Professional Teaching Certification from the State of Michigan.
