Umair Khan

Umair Khan is a Lead DevOps Engineer with over 14 years of professional experience. Umair has worked with Schoolvoice since 2021, VentureDive since 2019, Careem since 2017, Right Solution's.net since 2013, ARPATECH (Pvt) LTd since 2011, SevenIT since 2010, and pixsense since 2007. At VentureDive, Umair designed, deployed, and managed Kubernetes cluster on AWS/Digitalocean, deployed Istio on Kubernetes for service mesh and microservice security, deployed Pixie on Kubernetes to identify application performance bottlenecks, configured Falco for Kubernetes threat detection, and monitored the Infra and applications using Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK. At Careem, Umair had experience with AWS including (Elasticbeanstalk, EC2, Elasticache, DynamoDb, Lambda, SQS, RDS, Route53), designed and maintained CICD pipelines on Jenkins for deployments of the services, and designed and implemented a monitoring framework using Prometheus, Grafana, Node exporter, and custom exporter. At Right Solution's.net, Umair managed AWS Services EC2, S3, AMIs creation, RDS, VPC, and auto-scaling, deployed and maintained Proxmox VE, 3-node ha cluster, and replicated VMS by using ceph storage, and designed, implemented, and maintained high traffic Linux web servers using Nginx, Apache, Varnish, and Nginx Plus for load balancing. At ARPATECH (Pvt) LTd, Umair installed and maintained VMWare ESX environments on Local/Remote DataCenters, ESX /VMServer Virtual Machines Backup, Maintenance using GhetoVCB, setup Nagios to Monitor Production and Local Server, and wrote Vmware PowerCli script for VM reporting and management. At SevenIT, Umair deployed and administered Asterisk VoIP server, installed and configured squid transparent proxy, active directory, samba server, internal Mail server, Shorewall, Nagios, Apache, and Mysql server. Finally, at pixsense, Umair worked as a Network Engineer.
