Austin Burfield, P.E. is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in the field of electrical and computer engineering. Currently serving as an Instructor at the University of Cincinnati - College of Engineering and Applied Science since August 2024, Austin has also held the role of Senior Application Engineer - Protection/Team Lead at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) since May 2022. Previous positions include Lead Engineer, Senior Engineer, and Transmission Engineer III in Transmission Protection & Control at Duke Energy Corporation from April 2018 to April 2022, as well as multiple engineering roles at SEL from June 2010 to April 2018. Austin holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University and is pursuing a Master of Engineering at the University of Cincinnati.
