Kate Vanhorn

Kate VanHorn is an Associate Project Engineer in the Protection department at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, having transitioned from an Engineering Intern role within the same company. Kate has also contributed to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte as a Preceptor, MAPS Coach, and Lead ECE Student Ambassador, focusing on supporting new engineering students. Prior experience includes a Renewable Control Center Co-Op at Duke Energy Corporation and an internship in Control Systems Engineering at HDR. Kate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where previous roles included Front Office Assistant and Undergraduate Teaching Assistant.
