Benson Lei, PhD

Benson Lei, PhD has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Benson is currently the Director of Strategic Planning and Business Development at SciClone Pharmaceuticals since February 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Manager in Business Development at Pediatrix Therapeutics from December 2021 to February 2023. Between August 2021 and December 2021, they were involved in Deals Strategy at Strategy&.

In their previous roles, Benson served as Strategic Insights and Analytics professional at IQVIA from May 2020 to August 2021. Benson also worked as a Consultant and Researcher at the University of South Australia from May 2017 to May 2020.

Benson also gained experience as an Investment Analyst at M Ventures from May 2019 to November 2019 and participated in the Merck Innovation Cup Summer Camp at Merck Group in July 2018.

Earlier in their career, they worked as a Graduate Researcher at the University of Queensland from October 2014 to June 2017. Benson was also a Research Assistant at the University of Macau from January 2010 to July 2011.

Before entering the academic field, Benson was a Founding Member of the Food Safety Center and a Team Lead in Operations and Risk Assessment at the Municipal Affairs Bureau of Macao SAR Government from September 2011 to March 2014. In this role, they played a significant role in establishing and developing Macau's first food safety monitoring system.

Benson Lei, PhD, received their Bachelor's Degree in Bioengineering: Biotechnology from UC San Diego, where they studied from 2004 to 2009. Following this, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biomedical Engineering at The University of Queensland from 2014 to 2018.
