Sophie Haugen is currently an M1 student at Sciences Po Urban School in Paris and serves as a Graduate Research Assistant, assisting with the organization of the Nature in the City international conference and researching informal wildfire notification systems for an upcoming AAG conference. Prior to this, Sophie worked as a grant writer at Five Keys Schools and Programs, developed transit-related research as a field researcher at Ewald & Wasserman Research Consultants, and held roles including Project Specialist at California State Library and Ethnographic Research Assistant at UC Berkeley School of Public Health, conducting interviews with homeless youth. Leadership experience includes serving as President of Students for Sensible Drug Policy and Lead Facilitator for the Re-thinking the War on Drugs course. Additional experience includes crisis counseling and respite caregiving. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning from Sciences Po, a Bachelor's degree in American Studies and Global Public Health from UC Berkeley, and an Associate's degree in Social Sciences from Santa Rosa Junior College.
