Ales Cernivec

Ales Cernivec currently serves as the Infrastructure and DevOps Lead at Scilife since September 2024. Prior experience includes over 17 years at XLAB, where Ales held the positions of Chief Security Officer, Project Manager, and developer/researcher, contributing to several EU projects such as XtreemOS and Contrail, while also overseeing infrastructure responsibilities. Additionally, Ales was a young researcher and PhD student at the Faculty of Computer and Information Science in Ljubljana from 2007 to 2010, focusing on distributed systems and algorithms. Early career development involved working as a student at AZ net d.o.o., where Ales developed a business application. Ales holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Ljubljana.
