Sherry Guardiano, DO, MBA, CPPS has extensive work experience in the medical field. Sherry currently holds the role of Senior Director, Medical Affairs at Scipher Medicine since May 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Dartmouth-Hitchcock for 15 years, starting in June 2008. During their tenure, they held several positions including Chair of the Specialty Medicine Department, Rheumatologist, and Medical Informaticist. In their role as Medical Informaticist, they were responsible for both IT administration and clinical practice, and played a key role in implementing clinical information technology initiatives. Before joining Dartmouth-Hitchcock, they served as a Naval Officer at the Department of Navy National Naval Medical Center from July 2004 to July 2008.
Dr. Sherry Guardiano, DO, MBA, CPPS has an extensive education history. Sherry began their educational journey at Bates College, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in English Language and Literature, with a focus on Pre-Med. Sherry attended Bates College from 1990 to 1994.
After completing their undergraduate studies, Dr. Guardiano pursued a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree at the University of New England's College of Osteopathic Medicine. Sherry successfully completed their medical education from 1994 to 1998.
Following their medical degree, Dr. Guardiano enrolled in a three-year Internal Medicine Residency program at Eastern Virginia Medical School. During this time, they also served as the Chief Resident. Sherry'sresidency spanned from 1998 to 2002.
Dr. Guardiano further specialized in Rheumatology by completing a Rheumatology Fellowship at The George Washington University. This fellowship occurred between 2002 and 2004.
Additionally, Dr. Guardiano attained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a concentration in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Sherry pursued their MBA studies from 2017 to 2020.
In terms of certifications, Dr. Guardiano obtained several additional qualifications. Sherry achieved certification in Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2001. In 2004, they became a Certified Clinical Densitometrist through the International Society of Clinical Densitometry. Moreover, Dr. Guardiano holds specialized certifications in Health Information Technology from the American Association for Physician Leadership® and in Rheumatology from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Lastly, they obtained their Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) certification from IHI in June 2022.
