Lesya Matarese

Product Manager at SciShield

Lesya Matarese has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. From 2008 to 2010, they worked as an Ophthalmic Technician at the Glaucoma Practice of New York, where they conducted diagnostic testing on patients, performed secretarial duties, and coordinated a nationwide drug study. From 2010 to 2012, they worked as a Lab Technician at the Wadsworth Center, NYS Department of Health, conducting research on the use of coxsackie virus B4 as a vector for developing a therapeutic HIV vaccine. At Harvard Medical School/BIDMC from 2012 to 2015, they held the position of Clinical Research Coordinator, overseeing patient enrollment in clinical trials and managing financial responsibilities. Starting in 2015, they joined SciShield, where they initially served as a Project Manager and Healthcare Business Analyst, implementing a SaaS product for research institutions. Lesya then transitioned to the role of Product Engagement Lead, managing timelines and customer relationships. Lesya also volunteered at Out of the Pits from 2005 to 2012.

Lesya Matarese obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology and Health Sciences from the University at Albany, SUNY, where they studied from 2008 to 2010. Prior to that, they completed an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Biotechnology at Hudson Valley Community College, where they studied from 2004 to 2006.
