Shantanu Guha is a Research Scientist II at Scorpius BioManufacturing, Inc., specializing in the pre-clinical development of novel antifungal agents targeting drug-resistant strains of Candida albicans and other fungal pathogens since May 2023. Prior to this role, Shantanu served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) from June 2020 to May 2023, focusing on antifungal research. Shantanu completed a PhD in Biomedical Sciences at Tulane University School of Medicine, where projects included the characterization of an enterotoxic peptide from Ebola and the development of antimicrobial peptides against drug-resistant bacteria. Additionally, Shantanu held positions as Laboratory Manager and Research Assistant at Tulane University from May 2012 to May 2020, with early research experience at MD Anderson Cancer Center and as a Research Student at Austin College. Shantanu's academic background includes a Master's in Public Health from Tulane University and a Bachelor’s in Biology from Austin College.
