Shirin Akbari

Shirin Akbari is an experienced data science professional with a robust background in cost control, machine learning, and statistical analysis. With early experience as a Cost Control Analyst at IRASCO-IRITEC Consortium, Shirin managed project expenditures and analyzed financial data. This was followed by significant roles at Scotiabank, advancing from Senior Data Scientist to Lead Data Scientist, where Shirin led teams and applied machine learning and AI solutions within the banking sector. Previous positions include Data Scientist at IBM Center for Advanced Studies, Graduate Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at Ryerson University, and Statistical Analyst at Health Science and Technology Academy. Shirin holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering from Ryerson University and has completed both a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree at Sharif University of Technology. Additionally, Shirin has experience in inventory planning and data management systems, applying statistical methods and machine learning algorithms across various domains.
