Albena Atanassova

Albena Atanassova has a diverse work experience in the field of architecture. Albena started their career in 2011 as an architectural assistant at Accord Architecture Ltd. Albena then worked as a research assistant at the Manchester School of Architecture, where they were involved in organizing workshops and lectures. In 2014, they joined Scott Brownrigg as a Part II Architectural Assistant and later became an Associate. During their time at Scott Brownrigg, they worked on various residential projects and was also involved in international architectural competitions. Albena also held the position of Project Director at Scott Brownrigg and Design Delivery Unit. Additionally, Albena Atanassova has been actively involved with professional organizations and academic institutions. Albena served as the Vice President for Students and Associates at RIBA and also chaired the RIBA Wren Scholarships. Albena is currently a panel member on the LSBU Architecture Advisory Board. Starting from 2020, they have taken on the role of Chair for the RIBA Wren Scholarships. In their previous role at the International Union of Architects (UIA), Albena represented students from Region I. Albena Atanassova has a diverse education history. Albena began their studies at Liceo Italiano in Sofia from 2003 to 2008, where they obtained a Diploma of secondary education in Italian and Bulgarian, focusing on Science and Mathematics. In 2008, they attended Universita per stranieri Perugia for a short duration, completing a Corso di secondo livello avanzato in Business/Managerial Economics.

Albena then pursued their passion for Architecture, earning a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from the University of Portsmouth from 2008 to 2011. Following this, they pursued higher education at the University of Manchester, where they obtained a Master's Degree in Architecture from 2012 to 2014.

Seeking further professional development, Albena attended The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL from 2016 to 2017, and completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Practice & Management in Architecture (ARB/RIBA Part 3).

In addition to their formal education, Albena has obtained certifications from lynda.com. In 2014, they completed the "Revit Architecture 2013 Essential Training" and "Revit Architecture: Rendering" courses, further enhancing their expertise in the field.
