Head Of-place- Falkirk Grangemouth Investment Zone at Scottish Enterprise

Caroline Strain has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Caroline started their career as an Inward Investment & Property Development Surveyor at Central Region from 1993 to 1996. Caroline then joined Scottish Enterprise in 2000 and worked as a Senior Executive in Property Development until 2004. From 2004 to 2006, they took part in the Management Development Programme at Scottish Enterprise, gaining insight into different areas of the business. Afterwards, Caroline served as the Head of the Chemical Sciences Team at Scottish Enterprise from 2006 to 2018. In this role, they provided strategic leadership for the chemical sciences sector in Scotland and supported the development of manufacturing strategies. Caroline also acted as the Head of Partnerships for TayCities and Aberdeen Regions from 2018 to 2019. Currently, Caroline is the Head of Place for Falkirk Grangemouth Investment Zone, a position they have held since January 2020.

Caroline Strain attended St Ninians High Kirkintilloch from 1979 to 1985. Caroline then enrolled at Paisley College of Technology where they completed their Bsc Land Economics degree from 1985 to 1989. Later, in 1991, they became a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
