Mark Donohoe has extensive work experience in the field of internal audit and business assurance services. MARK began their career as an Auditor at the District Audit Service (Audit Commission) in 1992 before moving on to join PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in 1994 as a Business Assurance Services Assistant Audit Manager. Mark then joined Scottish Enterprise in 2002, where they held various positions including Senior Internal Audit Manager and Head of Audit - Scottish Enterprise Internal Audit Shared Service. In these roles, they were responsible for contributing to the overall internal audit strategy, providing controls assurance to senior management, and conducting investigations into fraudulent activities and funds misappropriation.

Mark Donohoe obtained a BA (Hons) degree in Marketing and Economics from the University of Strathclyde from 1988 to 1992. Prior to that, they attended St Michaels Academy in Kilwinning from 1981 to 1986. In 2013, they obtained a certification as a Chartered Public Finance Accountant from the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA).
