Stuart Lewis has a diverse and extensive work experience history. Stuart began their career as a Project Leader for the Repository Support Project, where they provided guidance and advice to higher education institutions on the implementation and management of digital repositories. Stuart then served as a Project Manager for the University of Auckland, where they led a team in developing innovative services for information collection and delivery. Stuart also worked as a mentor for the Google Summer of Code program, guiding software development projects for DSpace and DuraSpace. Additionally, they held various roles at the University of Edinburgh, including Deputy Director Library & University Collections, Head of Research & Learning Services, and Head of Digital Library Services. Stuart's experience also includes serving on the Board of the Digital Preservation Coalition and as a Board Trustee for The Fostering Network. Most recently, they held the position of Head of Digital Delivery at VisitScotland before assuming the role of Director of Digital, Data and IT at Scottish Enterprise in 2023.
Stuart Lewis attended Aberystwyth University from 1997 to 2001, where they earned a BEng degree in Software Engineering.
