Vincent Fitzsimons has extensive experience in the field of hydrogeology and water resources management. Vincent began their career as a Temporary Assistant at Crowe Schaffalitzky & Associates in 1990 before moving on to work as a Temporary Field Assistant at the Geological Survey of Ireland. In this role, they conducted field work and office analysis related to groundwater flooding and source protection zones. Vincent then joined Bernard Murphy and Associates as a Hydrogeologist, where they worked until 1995.

From 1995 to 1999, Vincent worked at URS Corporation, An AECOM Company, as a Project Hydrogeologist. During this time, they served as a Project Manager and conducted hydrogeology work and contaminated land investigations for major industrial sites. Vincent then joined the Geological Survey of Ireland as a Senior Hydrogeologist, where they worked until 2003.

In 2003, Vincent transitioned to the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), where they held several roles. Vincent first served as a Water Resources Manager, leading a team responsible for managing Scotland's surface and groundwater resources. Vincent then became the Head of Flooding and Hydrology, leading a team that helped Scotland adapt to extreme weather events and sustainably manage its water resources.

Vincent's work at SEPA involves stakeholder engagement, public meetings, and technical presentations to ensure effective communication and collaboration. Vincent'smain focus is enabling their team to thrive and deliver results while creating health and well-being benefits and sustainable economic growth.

Vincent Fitzsimons has a Master's Degree in Hydrogeology from the University of Birmingham, which they obtained in 1994. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences from Trinity College Dublin, which they completed between 1988 and 1992.
