Mike Mercer

Mike Mercer joined Scout in 2018 and serves as Senior Vice President of Operations, responsible for management of the North, Central and South Divisions.

Mike graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in petroleum engineering and has over 22 years of experience in the industry.

Mike began his career at Mack Energy as a field engineer. Mike joined Merit Energy Company in 2000 and spent nine years there in a range of engineering and management roles, taking responsibility for Merit operations in Wyoming, Colorado and Utah. Production under his supervision included water floods in the Big Horn and Powder River Bains, conventional and Coal Bed Methane gas in the Powder River and Green River Basins, deep gas and various processing plants in the Overthrust Belt of Southwest Wyoming, as well as CO2 operations in the Great Divide Basin. He then moved to Urban Oil and Gas as the Vice President of Business Development and head of operations.

Mike is a member of AADE (American Association of Drilling Engineers) and SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers).
