Esther Smits

Esther Smits has a diverse work experience. Esther began their career in 2013 as a tutor for StudentsPlus tutoring agency. In 2016, they became a teaching assistant for the course Radiation Expertise at the University of Twente. That same year, they also interned at the Radboud University Medical Centre Nijmegen. In 2017, Esther interned at OCON orthopaedic clinic, Medisch Spectrum Twente, and DEMCON. At Medisch Spectrum Twente, their research was aimed at the application of deformable image registration of PET/CT-scans with the open source software Elastix. At the University of Twente, they were a tutor for bachelor students in Technical Medicine. In 2018, Esther was a graduation intern at 3D Lab Nederland, where they designed and developed a surgical navigation application for the department of trauma surgery. In 2019, they joined ScreenPoint Medical as the Head of Customer Success and Clinical Application Specialist.

Esther Smits obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Technical Medicine from the University of Twente in 2015. Esther also obtained a Coördinerend stralingsdeskundige (niveau 3) certification in December 2015. Esther then went on to pursue a Master of Science (MSc) in Technical Medicine, track Medical Imaging & Interventions, which they completed in December 2018. Esther also obtained a MSc degree Technical Medicine from the University of Twente in December 2018.
