Research Scientist Deep Learning at ScreenPoint Medical

Joep Stevens has had a varied career, beginning in 2006 when they founded and owned Bespanservice Joepie, a business that specialized in stringing tennis rackets for all kinds of players. In 2009, they were an employee at Jan Pulles Leather Company, a factory that produces handmade belts. From 2013 to 2014, they were a student-assistant at EuFlex, where they gave workshops to high school kids to introduce technical studies at the TU/e. From 2014 to 2019, they worked at Magna Tyres Group as a magazijn medewerker. In 2019, they were a research scientist deep learning at ScreenPoint Medical, where they developed and marketed image analysis and machine learning applications and services to improve early detection of breast cancer. Joep also held an R&D Intern Deep Learning position at icometrix, where they created a 3D U-net architecture from scratch to segment a brain tumor and classify 4 regions inside the High Grade Glioma's.

Joep Stevens attended Dr.Mollercollege from 2006 to 2012, where they earned a Gymnasium diploma in Natuur & Techniek, Natuur & Gezondheid, Economie, Duits en Grieks. Joep then went on to attend Eindhoven University of Technology from 2012 to 2015, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biomedische technologie (Biomedical engineering). Joep also obtained a Propedeuse Biomedical Engineering certification from the same institution in 2013. From 2015 to 2016, they attended Eindhoven University of Technology for Pre-master Electrical Engineering. Joep obtained a premaster Electrical Engineering certification in 2015. From 2016 to 2019, they attended Eindhoven University of Technology for Electrical Engineering. Additionally, they obtained a Bachelor Biomedical Engineering certification from the same institution in 2015. Joep also has a Clinical Physics certification from Technische Universiteit Eindhoven.
