Marcos Barrera Álvarez

Marcos Barrera Álvarez has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and analytics. Marcos is currently working as a Data & Analytics Manager at SDG Group since April 2023. Prior to this, they were the Head of Data Science & Analytics at artyco | the data driven company from February 2022 to March 2023. Marcos also served as a Data Scientist - IA at the same company from July 2021 to February 2022.

Before their role at artyco, Marcos worked at everis as a Data Scientist from July 2018 to July 2021. Their responsibilities included working with customers from various industries, executing end-to-end data science processes, performing statistical analysis and feature engineering, and applying and evaluating different machine learning algorithms.

Marcos also gained experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst at The Curve Group from May 2017 to September 2017. Prior to that, they worked at Konecta UK as a Business Intelligence Analyst from November 2014 to April 2017. Their work at Konecta involved identifying key drivers and blockers in business processes, recommending changes and improvements, cost forecasting, risk and P&L analysis, and project management of corporate reports.

Marcos began their career as a Commercial Banking Assistant at Banco Santander from July 2009 to September 2011.

Marcos Barrera Álvarez completed their education with a Licenciatura in Derecho from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 2014. After that, they pursued further studies at the University of Cambridge, where they focused on English Legal Methods. Marcos completed this program in 2015. Later, in 2017 to 2018, they attended CUNEF and obtained an MSc in Data Science.
