Fourie Du Plessis has extensive work experience in finance and management roles. Fourie currently serves as the CFO for Lesotho Flour Mills and Seaboard Overseas and Trading Group. Prior to that, they worked as a Risk Manager and Finance Business Partner at GWK Beperk/Limited, where they were responsible for market risk analysis, financial management, and strategic analysis. Fourie also worked as a Financial Controller at Cargill, overseeing budgeting, reporting, and compliance in the agricultural commodity trading industry. Before that, Fourie was the co-owner and financial manager for All-S-Africa, a home décor manufacturer and exporter. Fourie began their career at PwC, where they gained experience as a CA(SA) Articles and Audit Manager.

Fourie Du Plessis has a diverse education history, starting with a Bachelor's Degree in B. Compt, which they pursued on a part-time basis at the University of the Free State from 1992 to 1996. In 1997 and 1998, they studied at the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika and obtained another Bachelor's Degree, this time in B.Compt Honours, with a Certificate in the Theory of Accounting. In 1999, Fourie Du Plessis furthered their education by completing the CA(SA) qualification, which is awarded by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. Continuing their educational endeavors, in 2014, they attended the SAIFM (South African Institute of Financial Markets) & FSB (Financial Services Board) to undergo JSE & FSB compliance examinations. Finally, in 2015, Fourie enrolled in the Executive Development Program at the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika, where they focused on developing strategy skills required for individuals in senior leadership roles.
