Stephen Dewey

Stephen Dewey has a diverse work experience in the field of substance abuse treatment and research. Stephen started their career as a Senior Scientist at Brookhaven National Laboratory in 1986 and worked there until 2009. In 1990, they became a Research Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the New York University School of Medicine. From 2009 to 2017, they served as the Director of the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research. In 2015, they joined the Seafield Center Alcohol and Substance Abuse Treatment as the Director of Research Education. Stephen is currently the President of Addiction Educators, Inc., a company focused on educating the community about substance use disorder and the underlying neurochemical mechanisms.

Stephen Dewey completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Chemistry from Fairleigh Dickinson University from 1977 to 1981. Stephen later pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Neuroanatomy from the University of Iowa, which they achieved from 1981 to 1985. Seafield Center has been a staple to the New York, NY community for many years. We have been operating since 1985 and since then, we have had the opportunity to assist over 30,000 people who are struggling with alcohol and substance abuse as well as their families. We feature an inpatient rehab facility that specializes in alcohol detox, drug rehab, and more. Our goal is to work with our clients and get them on the right track to a life of recovery that is free from addiction.
