Gene Jones

Gene Jones is currently a partner at SeatonHill. Prior to that, they were the Chief Financial Officer at ATC Drivetrain, LLC from January 2015 to December 2018.

ATC Drivetrain is an automotive Tier 1 supplier and the largest independent remanufacturer of in-warranty transmissions in the world. It is lean manufacturing-based and offers over 20,000 component SKUs used in over 2,000 finished goods SKUs. It is the only independent remanufacturer capable of remanufacturing a continuously variable transmission. The company is TS16949, ISO14001, and ISO9000 certified.

During their time as CFO, Gene achieved a remarkable turnaround in profitability and liquidity in the first year, going from break even profitability and negative cash flow, to over $20 million in EBITDA in 2016 and $28 million in 2017. This led to the sale of the company in 2018, and a 20x increase in valuation of the business in two years. Gene also reduced Finance personnel head count by 50% while still achieving a three-day close and reporting. Lastly, they led the establishment of costing and pricing regimen to know product costs and set appropriate pricing.

Gene Jones has a Master of Science in Business Administration from Indiana University and a BS in Accounting from St. Joseph's College. Gene also has certification from the Safe Quality Food Institute in SQF Certification and certification from the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy in Certified Public Accountant.

Gene Jones reports to John Ball, CEO & Co-Founder. They work with Rick Moreno - Partner, Steve Wolff - Partner, and Larry Grant - Partner.
