Annette Coder, PHR, SHRM-CP, has a range of experience in HR and operations. Annette served as the Director of HR & Operations at the Seattle Institute for Biomedical and Clinical Research, where they oversaw IT, facility management, HR, and safety. Additionally, they managed benefits administration, retirement plans, recruitment, and compensation. Prior to that, Annette worked as the Human Resources Manager at the Multi-Service Center, where they handled all HR functions and payroll processing. Annette also served as the Payroll & Benefits Administrator at Inn Ventures, where they processed payroll for a large number of employees and administered benefits.
Annette Coder, PHR, SHRM-CP, has a background in business from Highline College. Annette obtained their PHR certification from HRCI in October 2020, and their SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification from SHRM in January 2015. Annette also holds additional certifications such as the Strategic Human Resources Leadership Certificate from Cornell University, obtained in February 2022, and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education, obtained in May 2021. Furthermore, they have obtained several LinkedIn certifications, including Influencing Others, Interviewing Techniques, Strategic Thinking, and Humor in the Workplace, obtained in 2018. Annette has been a SHRM-CP since February 2015 and a PHR since January 2008.

Established in 1989, Seattle Institute for Biomedical and Clinical Research (SIBCR) serves our nation’s Veterans through research and education endeavors at both divisions of the VA Puget Sound Health Care System (VAPSHCS) and Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center (MGVAMC). Our Mission says it all: To improve the health and well-being of Veterans through research and education conducted at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System and the Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center. Our investigators and staff are dedicated to the improvement of Veterans’ lives and SIBCR is dedicated to supporting their efforts by facilitating research and education projects funded by other federal agencies, voluntary health organizations, nonprofit professional societies, academic institutions and for-profit companies. SIBCR also works in conjunction with private donors to support research and education programs. In our three decades as a nonprofit institute 501(c)(3) incorporated in Washington State, our membership has grown to include both clinical and lab-based researchers in diverse areas such as: Diabetes treatment and prevention Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease Traumatic brain injury Geriatric care Rehabilitative medicine and prosthetics Addiction treatment, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders and psychological health Cancer care SIBCR is governed by a thirteen member Board of Directors, none of whom receive compensation for their service.
