Paul Gumagay currently serves as the Associate Director for Technical Assistance, Legal Compliance, and Planning in the Office of International Affairs at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, a role held since June 2007. Throughout a distinguished career at the SEC, Paul has held multiple positions including Special Adviser, Adviser, Acting Deputy Director, Counsel to the Director, and Senior Special Counsel within the Office of International Affairs, as well as Senior Counsel in the Division of Enforcement. Prior to this, Paul worked as a Senior Counsel in the Division of Enforcement at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP and began the legal career as a Staff Attorney in the Division of Enforcement at the SEC. Paul Gumagay holds a Master of Laws in Securities & Financial Regulation from Georgetown University Law Center, a Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School, and both a Master and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Investments from The George Washington University School of Business.
