Thankam Varghese

Thankam Varghese is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in securities regulation and compliance. Currently serving as Branch Chief in the Division of Investment Management at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission since October 2013, Thankam has held various roles including Senior Counsel and Senior Advisor/Counsel. Prior experience includes being an Associate at McCarter & English, LLP, where responsibilities encompassed defending broker-dealers in financial services litigation. Additional experience includes a legal internship at the Washington, D.C. Superior Court and a role as a Financial Analyst at the Economic Analysis Group, Ltd. Thankam holds a Juris Doctor degree from The George Washington University Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
