Richard Ashley's work experience includes various roles and positions over the years. Richard began their career as a Senior Research Engineer at ExxonMobil in 1988 and worked there until 1998. In 1999, they joined Xerox/HCL America as a Senior Software Engineer, where they remained until 2012. During this time, they then moved to Thomson Reuters and worked as a Senior Software Test Automation Engineer from 2012 to 2019. In 2019, Richard took on a role as a Mathematics/Computer Science Tutor at Monroe Community College for a short period. Finally, in the same year, they joined Second Avenue Learning as a Curriculum Developer, where they are currently employed.

Richard Ashley earned their Master's degree in Software Development and Management from Rochester Institute of Technology, graduating in 1999. Prior to this, they pursued their Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, completing it in 1988.
