Alek Piekarski

Alek Piekarski has been working in the software engineering field since 2014. Alek began their career as a lifeguard and swim instructor at the Southern Saratoga YMCA, one of the branches of the Capital District YMCA. Alek then worked as a lifeguard for the Town of Clifton Park Parks and Recreation Department at the Barney Road Pool. In 2016, they worked as a Teaching Assistant for the College of Computer and Information Science at Northeastern University. In 2017, they worked as a Software Engineering Co-op at SessionM and a CCIS Fellow at Northeastern University. In 2018, they worked as a Web Development Co-op at WHOOP. In 2019, they worked as a Software Engineer Placement at Second Nature. Currently, they are working as a Software Engineer at Second Nature, where they are responsible for developing web applications using TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Node.js, Express, Mongoose, React Native, Next.js, React, Jest, Tailwind CSS, Storybook, AngularJS, i18n, and MongoDB.

Alek Piekarski attended Northeastern University from 2015 to 2020, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science. In 2018, they also attended The University of Edinburgh for a Computer Science program.
