Austin Pohlman

Lead Systems Engineer at Second Order Effects

Austin Pohlman has held various engineering roles since 2017. In 2017, they were an Electrical Engineering Team Member at LMU Hyperloop, an Electrical Engineering Teaching Assistant at Loyola Marymount University, and an R&D Electrical Engineering Intern at Marport. In 2018, they were an Electrical Engineering Intern at Applied Medical. In 2019, they became a Lead Systems Engineer at Second Order Effects, Inc. In this role, they were responsible for leading electrical system architecture development, guiding technical teams during development, owning projects as technical lead, and developing company infrastructure for training and hardware development. Austin was also the technical lead and interim project manager for a 4-month development cycle for a high-power medical device prototype system. Additionally, they have mentored 3 interns.

Austin Pohlman attended Camden Hills Regional High School from 2011 to 2015 and earned their High School Diploma. Austin then attended Loyola Marymount University from 2015 to 2019, where they earned their Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
