Alexander Messmer

Alexander Messmer has over 14 years of experience providing advisory and consulting services on complex issues involving business and investment valuation, damages quantification, fraud and investigations, finance, accounting, and economics. He has worked on over 30 disputes in domestic and foreign courts, as well as in arbitrations before ICSID, ICC, UNCITRAL, and ad-hoc tribunals. He has also assisted on accounting matters in the context of internal audits, independent investigations, and white-collar criminal defense.

Mr. Messmer has worked with a wide range of clients including Fortune 500 companies, foreign nationals, and sovereign nations. He has worked on a wide breadth of projects in North, South, and Central America, the Caribbean, Europe, Oceania, and Asia in a variety of industries such as energy, utilities, real estate, oil and gas, metals & mining, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, and financial services, among others.

Mr. Messmer joined Secretariat as part of the firm’s acquisition of Versant Partners in August 2021. Previously, he spent thirteen years in the disputes practice at a publicly-traded consulting firm before it was acquired by a leading private business advisory and expert services firm. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance with a second major in Chinese Language & Culture from the College of William & Mary. He also holds the internationally recognized designation of Chartered Financial Analyst from the CFA Institute.
