Stuart Allan

Stuart Allan is a Director based in Dubai. He is a qualified quantity surveyor and an RICS Accredited Expert Witness with over 14 years’ international experience in construction and engineering.

Mr. Allan specialises in quantum expert witness work for construction and engineering disputes, including the valuation of claims for damages in several jurisdictions, variations under standard and bespoke forms of contract, disruption, and acceleration. He is also experienced in final accounts, remeasurement and quantity surveying principles. His experience has been gained across a variety of sectors and has included projects in the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Algeria and South Africa.

Mr. Allan regularly acts as Lead Assistant to the appointed Quantum Expert on complex domestic and international construction and engineering projects. He leads teams in relation to the resolution of high-value international arbitrations, matters referred to dispute adjudication boards, and matters referred to dispute review boards. Mr. Allan has assisted party-appointed experts, including appointments from employers, contractors and subcontractors. Mr. Allan has also assisted tribunal-appointed experts.

Mr. Allan holds an LLM in Construction Law & Arbitration and a BSc (Hons) degree in Quantity Surveying. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB), a practicing Associate Member of the Academy of Experts (AMAE), and an RICS Accredited Expert Witness. Mr. Allan also has a seat on the Branch Committee for the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is the Data Manager in the United Arab Emirates.
