                                                                                        Position Summary

The General Manager (GM) will be responsible for Securiport operations in the country of operation. The GM is a senior manager who will build and lead the country team, manage all aspects of business in the country, represent Securiport to key external stakeholders, build key governmental relationships and partnerships, promote innovation and entrepreneurship, and deliver on objectives and milestones within agreed budgets and timelines. 

                                                    Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to overall vision and strategy, in consultation with other Country Managers, Directors, COO and/or CEO;

  • Manage all aspects of the business at country level and ensure goals in coordination with headquarter directives are achieved;

  • Ensure business is aligned with overall country-level strategy, contributes to operational approach for the country, and links to national airport-sector plans, initiatives or structures

  • Build, motivate, and lead team;

  • Establish quality assurance principles and procedures in the selection and oversight of consultants, partners, and other persons/entities involved in developing or implementing structure;

  • Represent the company with key external stakeholders, including airlines, partners, sector-wide networks, and government;

  • Adapt global operations strategy to national context; create national-level strategies and plans; manage key risks;

  • Monitor national landscape relating to Securiport, developments, and policies affecting the project;

  • Coordinate project design and implementation, obtaining necessary inputs/guidance from other country managers and directors ensuring program goals set up or sanctioned by the Board of Securiport or its CEO are achieved;

  • Develop agreements and contracts (in consultation with CFO and COO);

  • Create and monitor budgets (in consultation with CFO and COO);

  • Prepare and present monthly budgets to Headquarters for approval by the CEO and/or Corporate Treasurer;

  • Develop and maintain management systems, including communication, reporting, authorities and decision-making protocols;

  • Prepare and submit high quality monthly and annual reports, and other updates as required

  • Lead and develop the country team;

  • Oversee accounting policies and procedures, in consultation with the Corporate Treasurer and CFO;

  • Provide monthly financial reports;

  • Review and approve all travel, general expense reports, and timesheets for staff in the region;

  • Under the leadership of the CEO, COO and/or the Director of Global Operations and in consultation with the HR Director, plan and execute the recruitment of staff;

  • Review and support staff development in consultation with the HR Director at headquarters;

  • Work closely with team to ensure planning, administration, logistics, IT and other systems support are consistent with Central African Republic's policies, procedures and best practices;

  • Serve as primary in-country media liaison;

  • Ensure effective internal communications between government and country office;

  • Contribute country information to the Securiport headquarters in Washington, DC;

  • The GM will also undertake other duties assigned by the CEO, COO and/or the Director of Global Operations in conjunction with business development and changes of headquarters.

Qualifications

Education:     Bachelor’s degree in business, information technology and Master’s Degree a preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant senior management and/or program management experience;

  • Previous field experience and/or living overseas a plus;

  • Experience negotiating with government officials and national level organizations and leaders, as well as networking with industry leaders;

  • Proven personnel management experience; empower and engage all levels of personnel;

  • Demonstrated decision-making skills;

  • Ability to prioritize a diverse and heavy workload, and meet tight deadlines.

  • Willingness to travel regularly, including challenging locations.

  • Solid leadership and organizational skills required.

  • Must be attentive to detail and able to function under pressure.
