Aldar C-F. Chan

Aldar C-F. Chan currently serves as the Manager of Intermediaries Supervision at the Securities and Futures Commission, focusing on technical analysis related to crypto-assets, stablecoins, and DeFi, while monitoring industry trends. Previously, Aldar was the Manager of the Fintech Facilitation Office at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, where contributions included authorship of the e-HKD Technical Whitepaper and the design of its prototype. Aldar has also held advisory roles at the Bank for International Settlements' Innovation Hub, and has extensive experience in research and development in cryptography, cybersecurity, and blockchain technologies across various institutions. Educational qualifications include a PhD from the University of Toronto and a M.Phil and B.Eng from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and The University of Hong Kong, respectively.
