Guan Tan

Guan Tan is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in international regulatory affairs, currently serving as Senior Manager for International Affairs at the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong since April 2002. In this role, Guan Tan manages the organization's international activities focusing on key areas such as Fintech, sustainable finance, and cross-border regulatory cooperation, including participation in the IOSCO Asia Pacific Regional Committee and leadership of its Sustainable Finance Working Group. Previous roles include Manager of Intermediaries Supervision at the Securities and Futures Commission, where responsibilities included drafting regulatory initiatives, and Secretary of the IOSCO Standing Committee 3, focusing on regulatory standard-setting for financial intermediaries. Guan Tan's legal expertise was further honed as Legal Counsel at the Securities and Futures Commission and at Bank Negara Malaysia, alongside an earlier consultancy in educational programs. Guan Tan holds a Barrister-at-law degree from Middle Temple and a BA(Hons) in Law and Economics from Keele University.
