Julia Leung

Julia Leung is a seasoned professional in the financial sector, currently serving as Chief Executive Officer at the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) since March 2015, after holding positions as Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Intermediaries. Julia has a strong background in advisory roles, having been a Julius Fellow at Chatham House and a Fellow at the Harvard University Asia Center in 2014, as well as a Senior Advisor at the Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum during the same year. Contributions to the field include authorship of the book "Tides of Capital," which examines how Asia overcame financial crises. Previous experience includes serving as Under Secretary for the Financial Services and Treasury Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR and Executive Director at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. Julia began their career as a correspondent for The Asian Wall Street Journal. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Journalism from Columbia University and a Bachelor's Degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
