Dan Pape

Dan joined Sedgman in September 2020 and was appointed as General Counsel and Company Secretary in April 2021. Dan oversees the legal and company secretarial functions of Sedgman. He is an experienced mining and construction lawyer with substantial industry experience, having begun his career as a mine geologist, working in open cut and underground gold and nickel mines.

Dan has 17 years of diverse top tier private practice, commercial and in-house legal experience across the construction and resources sectors both on the owner’s and contractor’s sides, including roles at other CIMIC Group companies, CPB Contractors and Thiess, premier law firm Allens Linklaters, as well as Peabody Energy and Elphinstone Group. Dan has negotiated several large and complex mining services and Engineer, Procure and Construct contracts in the resources sector and is known for his pragmatic approach and strong leadership.
