James Morey

James Morey has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. James currently holds the position of Lead DevOps Engineer at Sedgwick since 2022. Prior to this, James worked as a Senior Azure DevOps Engineer at NanoString Technologies, Inc. from 2021 to 2022, where they played a key role in automating test automation and CI/CD pipelines.

Before joining NanoString Technologies, James worked at Microsoft as a Software Engineer from 2020 to 2021, focusing on creating and delivering security solutions across the infrastructure supporting cloud services. James also worked as a Software Development Engineer at Microsoft from 2018 to 2019, where they resolved code problems, developed PowerShell tools, and provided insights for architecture improvements.

Previously, James held the role of Lead Automation Engineer at BitTitan from 2016 to 2017, where they significantly increased profits and operational efficiencies through the development of automation tools for Azure projects. James also worked as a Senior Content Developer at Microsoft from 1998 to 2014, where they worked on feature development and tools development.

In addition to their corporate experience, James worked briefly as an author and self-published the book "Ninja PowerShell Secrets" in 2014. James also gained experience as a Lab Technician at the University of Washington and the National Biological Service, where they focused on DNA and protein analysis, sequencing, and drug remediation studies.

James Morey earned a B.S. degree in Biology and Chemistry from Western Washington University between 1989 and 1994. James also obtained several certifications from Microsoft, including "Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate" in 2021, "Microsoft Azure Fundamentals" in 2019, "MS: Programming in HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS3" in 2016, "MCPS: Microsoft Certified Professional" in 2012, and "MCTS: SharePoint 2010, Configuration" in 2011.
