Joshua Smith

Joshua Smith has over 20 years of experience in various leadership roles in human resources and talent management. Joshua is currently the Head of Americas Human Resources & Global Head of Talent at Sedgwick, where they lead a team of HR business partners and oversees strategic HR planning, advisement, and execution for the Americas business units. Joshua is also responsible for leading the global talent management functions for the company.

Prior to their current role, Joshua held several leadership positions at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma & Texas, including Associate Vice President of Human Resources and Head of Talent Acquisition & Blue University. Joshua has also held roles at various other organizations, including Marian Catholic High School, DePaul University - Charles H. Kellstadt Graduate School of Business, Atlas Crossfit, and The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps.

Throughout their career, Joshua has demonstrated expertise in talent management, learning & development, succession planning, team development, and organization design. Joshua has successfully led strategic initiatives and partnered with C-suite executives and business leaders to drive a high-performing culture and promote employee engagement.

Joshua Smith has an MBA in Human Resources Management and Services from the Quinlan School of Business at Loyola University Chicago. Joshua also holds an MA in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Roosevelt University and a BA in Social Psychology & Behavioral Endocrinology from the University of Iowa. In addition, they have obtained certifications in Hogan Personality Assessment from Hogan Assessment Systems in 2019 and Leadership Effectiveness Analysis from Management Research Group in 2017.
