Dave Boisie Laygo is an undergraduate researcher at the Spaceflight, Applied Mechanics, & Orbital Systems (SAMOS) Lab, working under Professor Aaron Rosengren on space debris remediation utilizing laser radiation and orbital resonance. In addition, Laygo serves as the Director of External Affairs and Halya Rocket Structures Engineer for SEDS UCSD, focusing on the design and construction of a liquid bi-propellant rocket, while also having experience as a Vulcan II Rocket Structures Engineer. Laygo has held instructional roles in aerospace topics and served as a University Campus Ambassador for Collins Aerospace. Additional experience includes research roles in mobile robotics and thermal-fluid analysis, alongside a commitment to mentoring engineering students and engaging in medical transport. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering at UC San Diego, Laygo has been actively involved in various projects and leadership positions since high school.
