Cole Derosett

Cole Derosett has a diverse range of work experience in the field of engineering and space exploration. Cole served as the Engineering Capstone Project Team Lead at Framatome, where they led a team of five engineers in designing a remote ballast leveling system for submarines used in inspecting nuclear reactors. At Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS), they served as the Chapter President for the LU Space Program, overseeing multiple student teams and coordinating with partners at NASA and Lockheed Martin. Cole also worked as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at BWX Technologies, Inc. and Simplimatic, where they gained valuable industry experience. Cole held various leadership roles within the Liberty University Space Program, including Chief Engineer of the Rocket Propulsion Team and Lead Mechanical Engineer of the Mars Rover Team. Additionally, they conducted undergraduate research at NASA, primarily focusing on mission concept and vehicle design for a mission to Enceladus.

Cole Derosett attended Liberty University from 2020 to 2024, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.

SEDS-USA is a non-profit organization that supports young people to participate and make an impact in space exploration. It helps students develop their technical and leadership skills by providing opportunities to manage and participate in national projects as well as to attend conferences, publish their work, and develop their professionalnetwork, in order to help students become effective in their present and future careers in industry, academia, government, and education.SEDS-USA is a student-run space organization that consists of an international community of high school, undergraduate, and graduate students from a diverse range of educational backgrounds in chapters all over the world, including Canada, India, Israel, Mexico, Nepal, Nigeria, Philippines, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The organization was founded in 1980 at MIT by Peter Diamandis, at Princeton University by Scott Scharfman, and at Yale University by Richard Sorkin. It is headquartered in Amherst, N.Y.
