Melody Freeman's work experience begins in 2014 with a role as a Summer Intern Facilitator at Agape Child & Family Services. From 2015 to 2018, they worked at the Workforce Investment Network, first as a Youth Program Specialist and later as a Youth Services Coordinator. In 2018, they joined Grant Associates Inc as a Youth Manager, then became a Youth One Stop Operator before transitioning to the role of Strategic Operations Manager. In 2019, they started working at Shelby County Government as the Office of Justice Initiatives Manager until September 2022. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Collaborative Action at Seeding Success, starting in August 2022.
Melody Freeman pursued their education in a chronological sequence, with their earliest academic institution being Southwest Tennessee Community College from 2008 to 2010. During this period, they obtained an Associate's Degree in Psychology. Melody then attended The University of Memphis from 2010 to 2012, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology. Following that, Melody enrolled at Concordia University-Portland from 2013 to 2015, completing their academic journey with the attainment of a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. In addition to their formal education, they sought further professional development and obtained a Certificate Program, Foundations of Mental Health Care, from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in June 2022.
