Pristine Onuoha is an undergraduate researcher at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, involved in studying the transgenerational epigenetic inheritance of telomere binding proteins in C. elegans. Additionally, Pristine serves as a Seed University Council Member, facilitating virtual workshops aimed at empowering female minority high school students in their college and career paths. As a co-lead of the UNC-CH iGEM team, Pristine directs a bioengineering project focused on PFAS removal through probiotic development. Pristine is recognized as a 2023 Ron Brown Captain, part of a prestigious network for professional development. A winner of the 2022 Genes in Space competition, Pristine's project was selected to be executed aboard the International Space Station.
