Mykhailo Pidburtnyi

Research Scientist at SeeO2 Energy

For over 4 years, Mr. Pidburtnyi has been working on sustainable chemicals production and power generation via solid-state electrochemical systems. His research is focused on the electrode materials development for for steam-hydrogen and carbon dioxide-carbon monoxide environments, as well as cell performance optimization and stability improvement. Mr. Pidburtnyi’s studies are also directed toward fundamental understanding of the solid-state electrode reactions through electrochemical studies, using potentiometry, voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy with genetic programming post-processing. Mr. Pidburtnyi believes that new technologies not only make life more comfortable, but are also essential for making humanity progress with minimal environmental impact.

Mr. Pidburtnyi received his Master’s degree in 2016 at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Ukraine with specialization in Chemical Technology and Engineering. As a Ph.D. student at University of Calgary, he is currently working with Dr. Viola Birss on solid-state electrochemical systems development.
