Process Development Scientist III at Seer

Alexander Yuen has a diverse work experience in various scientific roles. Alexander is currently working at Seer as a Process Development Scientist III since May 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Ultima Genomics as a Senior Scientist from January 2022 to April 2023 and as a Scientist from January 2019 to December 2021. Before joining Ultima Genomics, Alexander worked as a Post-Doc Researcher at Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 from January 2018 to January 2019, where they focused on the synthesis of polyesters for food packaging applications. Alexander also conducted analysis using various characterization techniques. Earlier in their career, Alexander worked at IBM as a Graduate Student Researcher from September 2012 to August 2014, where they worked on organic and inorganic synthesis and analysis techniques. Additionally, they had a summer internship at FUJIFILM Dimatix, Inc. in 2012, where they performed failure analysis tasks related to MEMS fabrication processes.

Alexander Yuen has a strong education background in the field of materials science and engineering. Alexander obtained their Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of California, Merced, where they studied from 2007 to 2011. Building on this foundation, they pursued a Master's degree in Materials Science Engineering at San Jose State University, completing their studies in 2013. In the same year, they also obtained a certification as a PADI Open water SCUBA diver from PADI. Continuing their academic journey, Alexander pursued their passion for polymer chemistry and enrolled at Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Polymer Chemistry in 2017.
